Customers Weigh Difference in Shopping Organic, Non-Organic

Is there true value in eating organic?

Though their variety is not as extensive as organic grocery stores, places such as HEB and Randalls have tried meeting customer needs by providing some organic foods.

“When HEB has organic products, I do go for the organic food,” said a shopper at HEB. “I try to focus on the produce they have like the green leafy stuff that I read about being organically important. So, if I’m here, I get those here.”

As our generation’s technological advances seep into our salads and fruit bowls, we must consider how it affects our health. Though experts hesitate to say that the artificial additives, colorings and preservatives that farmers use are detrimental to our health, one must wonder what are the long-term effects of consuming so many chemicals?
